Join us Thursday, September 11, at 1 pm Et/7 pm CET for "Understanding the Oligarchy and How to Fight Back", a compelling and insightful virtual event that brings together the sharp cultural commentary of Keena Blum and the seasoned political mind of Zachary James Miller.
Keena Blum is the creative force behind the thought-provoking YouTube channel Things Your Mom Should've Told You. A former store leader at Tesla, Keena, walked away from the tech world and moved to the Spanish countryside. There, she has found her voice speaking out against the people and systems that drive today’s wealth inequality. Through candid storytelling and hard-hitting insights, she unpacks systemic issues with clarity, empathy, and a flair for making complexity accessible to all.
Zachary James Miller is an award-winning producer and director whose career spans feature documentaries, political activism, and grassroots organizing. After earning his training as a psychologist at the University of Akron and Antioch College, he ran a private practice in the U.S. before relocating to Paris. There, he immersed himself in the indie film scene and launched 2 Bulls On the Hill Productions, producing notable works like After Fall, Winter, and A Cry From Within. Miller’s longstanding political engagement includes leading campaign efforts for Barack Obama, Howard Dean, and Bernie Sanders through Democrats Abroad France, where he served multiple terms as Executive Vice-Chair and Minority Caucus Chair—and earned the nickname “The Obama of Paris” in recognition of his leadership. He now serves as the Vice Chair of the Democrats Abroad Global Black Caucus (GBC), continuing his commitment to amplifying progressive voices worldwide.
Together, Keena and Zachary will guide participants through:
A breakdown of power consolidation in today's socio-economic and political systems.
Personal narratives and real-life case studies that illustrate how oligarchic structures impact communities.
Practical, grassroots strategies for resisting and dismantling systems of concentrated power.
Whether you're an activist, scholar, or someone concerned about democratic integrity, this conversation promises to be enlightening, actionable, and deeply motivating.
