Let's Get Candid about the Candidates - Geneva

Our new DACH Chair Vance White has worn glasses since he was 10 years old, but he still has a very clear vision of what DACH must accomplish in 2020 and why we must be successful in the 2020 Elections!

This is an important year for the future of all Americans as we approach what will be a monumental election. The primaries are vital to selecting a candidate for the Democratic Party who will be victorious in November. As we enter into the main events of the Primary process, Vance will be hosting a series of events around Switzerland so that individuals can learn more about each candidate and then make informed decisions as they vote in the Global Presidential Primary (see more information about the GPP here).

These events use the theme of 2020 Vision and will allow you, individuals who have a multitude of reasons to support a particular candidate, to be candid about your preferences and discuss the positive aspects that helped you to prefer that candidate. And for those of you who have not yet determined which candidate is your favorite, we hope that the candid sharing of information about candidates will help you to know more about the platforms of the candidates as you prepare to vote in the Global Presidential Primary.

This event in Geneva will be our inaugural Candid-Candidates event and we look forward to meeting you all!

    Location:

A private residence near Parc des Chaumettes.

The exact address will be sent to you upon registration at Eventzilla.

This event is FREE OF CHARGE, but we will gladly accept cash donations from any US citizens who attend the event. Democrats Abroad Switzerland is a volunteer organization that relies on donations to be able to provide outreach, voter education, and voter registration services. With the critical nature of the 2020 election, we need your financial support to allow us to register and motivate as many voters living in Switzerland as possible.

DACH Geneva Book Club - February

For February, we will be reading and discussing Our Man by George Packer. This is a biography of Richard Holdbrooke (of Dayton peace accord fame).

Come join us, whether or not you read the book!

Additional information about this (and future) event(s) can be found here.

The AIWC is on the 4th floor of 11 rte. de Chêne. That's just around the corner from the Gare des Eaux-Vives.  Either take the new Leman Express train or trams #12 or #17. There's no easy parking (good luck on the street), but the train or tram make it easy to get to. But if using a car and a parking garage use Villerouge, which is about a 10 minute walk (don't use the Coop 2000 -- it gets locked early and you might have to wait until Wednesday to retrieve your car). Nominal start time is 18:30; if you arrive after 19:00 you'll need the door code to get in.

Not required, but appreciated is if you can bring some food and/or drink to share and Fr. 5.- to help with the room rent.
