Democrats Abroad Denmark Black Caucus invites you to join us on Wednesday, August 23 at 7:00 pm at Empire Bio for a special screening of Kevin Shaw’s documentary, “Let the Little Light Shine.” 

“In a thriving neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, National Teachers Academy (NTA), a top-ranked African American elementary school, faces a threat to its existence. As the community gentrifies, a wealthy parents' group aims to replace NTA with a high school campus that caters to wealthier residents. Determined to preserve their beloved institution, parents, students, and educators unite in a fight for NTA's survival. Shaw’s remarkable documentary follows the inspiring struggle of NTA's community as they stand up against the forces that seek to close their beacon of education.”
