DA Denmark Book Club Discussion of The War Before The War by Andrew Delbanco
DA Denmark book club invites you to join us on Tuesday, June 20th at 5:30 pm for our June book club discussion of "The War before the War: Fugitive Slaves and the Struggle for America's Soul from the Revolution to the Civil War” by Andrew Delbanco.
"The War Before the War" sheds light on the complexities surrounding fugitive slaves and their impact on America's social and political fabric. Through vivid storytelling and meticulous research, Delbanco reveals how these conflicts set the stage for the war that would define our nation.
Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that Professor Andrew Delbanco will be joining us for part of our discussion. This will be a unique opportunity to engage with the author and gain further insights into the book's events and historical significance.
Even if you haven't had a chance to read "The War Before the War" yet, you are still welcome to join and listen to the fascinating insights shared by Professor Delbanco and fellow book club members.
Please RSVP below to receive the Zoom link and join us for a very thought-provoking discussion.
Please note that our discussion will begin an hour earlier than our normal meeting time in order to accommodate Professor Delbanco.
