Democrats Abroad Denmark Book Club reads The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans

RSVP

We are excited to announce our upcoming book club discussion of "The Office of Historical Corrections" by Danielle Evans, which will be held online via Zoom on May 16th at 6:30 pm. This collection of short stories centers around the theme of correcting historical narratives and examines the complexities of race, history, and identity in America.

In the title story, a young black woman works for a government agency that corrects historical inaccuracies in public monuments and statues. Other stories feature characters struggling with their racial identity, navigating interracial relationships, and confronting the legacies of their families' pasts. Through her vivid characters and poignant storytelling, Evans offers a fresh perspective on these important topics.

Join us as we analyze the complex characters and themes presented in the book, and share our own experiences and perspectives. Whether you're a long-time book club member or a newcomer, this is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow book lovers and engage in thoughtful conversation.

We look forward to seeing you all there and hearing your insights on this important and thought-provoking read.
