Democrats Abroad Paris invites Americans living overseas to a nonpartisan, one-hour wellness event with Caitlin Dwyer, MSW, LCSW, an American psychotherapist based in Paris. Caitlin will share practical, evidence-based tools for staying grounded in a high-noise political climate without burnout, followed by a moderated Q&A (45 minutes).
We’ll cover:
media boundaries
nervous system regulation
small “micro-actions” that restore a sense of agency while living far from home.
Come for the calm, leave with a toolkit, and a stronger community.

Caitlin Dwyer, MSW, LCSW, is an American psychotherapist living and working in Paris. She earned her MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and spent a decade working in healthcare at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia before moving into private practice. Caitlin now works primarily with adults navigating chronic anxiety, life as an expat, and major life transitions.
As an American living abroad, Caitlin is particularly attuned to the nuanced emotional complexities of engaging with U.S. events from a distance, including questions of identity, belonging, and how to remain grounded and engaged during times of collective uncertainty. Her approach is somatic-informed and existentially reflective, with an emphasis on embodiment, values-based living, and making meaning in the face of uncertainty. Caitlin is passionate about working with clients who are thoughtfully and courageously creating lives that don’t look conventional but are rich with meaning.
