DA China 2021 Annual General Meeting

The Democrats Abroad China Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections will take place on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM China Standard Time. We will be voting to elect a new Leadership Board and on proposed bylaw amendments.  You will need your Democrats Abroad Account Number to cast your vote. Look yours up by going to democratsabroad.org, logging in, and going to Account Settings - it will be listed under your name. 
The AGM and elections will take place virtually through Zoom, however should we exceed the maximum number of participants on Zoom we will move over to the official Democrats Abroad WebEx account. Please note that you may need a VPN to use WebEx.

Please note that the Nominations and Elections Committee are responsible for elections only. The current leadership board has provided this draft agenda above. If you have not already seen the list of nominated candidates, you can find the most updated list here. The NEC will update candidates acceptance status and statements as we receive them. Candidates have until May 23rd at 12:59 PM to accept their nomination. Candidates who do not accept their nomination by the deadline will be marked as not accepting their nomination. We will be accepting nominations from the floor.

We will not be providing early voting, but we will allow members 20 minutes to complete the first initial ballot on the day of the election which elects the 11 members to the board. Once the 11 members are elected, we will move to election by position. Every ballot for a position will be given 5 minutes to complete. Each candidate will be able to speak for 2 minutes, they will be called on in alphabetical order. Each candidate will receive 2 minutes to speak and 3 minutes to answer questions from members on May 23. For a full list of answers to frequently asked questions please view our FAQ page here.
