DESCRIPTIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OFFICER ROLES:
Chair: The Chair leads the organization, is our principal spokesperson, and is responsible for running the Executive Committee meetings. The role involves strategic planning and overseeing of our activities, while also taking the lead on planning and implementing key events. The Chair has control over the bank account together with the Treasurer. The Chair also has a vote representing DA Sweden at global Democrats Abroad meetings, and coordinates our activities with the global organization.
Vice-Chair: The Vice-Chair acts as a stand-in for the Chair, must be prepared to take over the Chair's role, and takes on various tasks as needed. The Vice-Chair is a signatory on the bank account. Like the Chair, the Vice-Chair also has a vote representing DA Sweden at global Democrats Abroad meetings. Note: the Chair and Vice-Chair must be of different gender.
Secretary: The Secretary is our principal administrator and thus oversees our documents and membership database, and ensures that minutes are taken at meetings. Ideally, the Secretary is skilled with working with databases and websites. The Secretary is a signatory on the bank account.
Treasurer: The Treasurer oversees our finances and fundraising to ensure we are in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Along with the Chair, the Treasurer has control of the bank account.
Counsel: The Counsel should be available for any potential legal questions.
Member-At-Large (2x): Members-At-Large have a vote representing DA Sweden at global Democrats Abroad meetings. They also take the lead on various projects and tasks, depending on what is needed and their skill set.
For a more detailed description of each role, see the wiki post about it. All officers can take on additional tasks, depending on what is needed, their skill set, and availability.
NOTICE OF BYLAWS AMENDMENT PROPOSAL
In accordance with the bylaws, notice is hereby given that the following bylaws amendment, as proposed by the Democrats Abroad Sweden Executive Committee, will be voted on at the Democrats Abroad Sweden Annual General Meeting on May 4th 2019. Please see the below documents for the formal notice and relevant documents.
2019 CANDIDATES FOR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OFFICERS:
Elizabeth Clark Wessel
In addition to the five officers of the Executive Committee, DA Sweden must elect two (2) Members-At-Large in 2019. As described in the Democrats Abroad Charter, when a Country Committee has an even number of Members-At-Large, they must be gender balanced.
You may vote for up to two (2) Members-At-Large.
The first position goes to the top vote getter, and the second position goes to the next top vote getter of a different gender.
If a candidate is running for Member-At-Large, as well as Chair or Vice Chair, and is elected to the Chair or Vice Chair position, they will automatically withdraw from the Member-At-Large race.
MEMBERS AT LARGE:
Elizabeth Clark Wessel
Voting has concluded, election results will be announced at the AGM.
