DAUK Post-Election Reflections: Falling Forward (In-Person & Zoom)

 

The Democrats Abroad UK (DAUK) Youth Caucus is pleased to invite all members to our hybrid (in-person and online) panel discussion - “Post-Election Reflections: Falling Forward”

Schedule:
- 6:00pm Doors Open
- 6:15pm Pre-Panel Icebreaker Activity (optional!)
- 6:30pm Panel Begins
- 8:45pm Post-Panel Pint (at Northumberland Arms Pub on Tottenham Court Road)

We are joined by a fantastic line-up of expert speakers to discuss key aspects of the 2024 US presidential election, focusing on both the successes and shortcomings of the Democratic Party. By reflecting on the election, we hope to identify strategies that can "fall forward" into the future, including leveraging lessons to build resilience, enhance engagement, and the path to victory in upcoming campaigns! We will discuss the role of youth engagement, political polarization, campaign strategy, and media.

 

Meet Our Panelists:
● Eric Heinze: Author & Professor of Law and Humanities at Queen Mary University of London
● Wen-Wen Lindroth: Head of Global Industrial Credit & SVP at GIC, Former Chair of DAUK
● Eric Beinhocker: Executive Director, Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School and Professor, Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford
● Matt Gallagher: Communications and Operations Officer at Byline Times
* All panelists are speaking in a personal capacity.

We will have opening speeches by the panelists, a moderated discussion, and the opportunity for Q/A from the audience!
