Democrats Abroad Germany is looking for Caucus Leaders for the following Caucuses:
General job description for all positions:
- Disseminating information to members
- Coordinating caucus-related events in Germany
- Periodically report to the global caucus steering committee
- Finding ways to add diversity to non-caucus events
- Establishing working committees on legislative or policy issues
- Running and attending meetings
- Other duties as required
Each caucus will be represented by a Chair who is responsive to both members and any requests for action or information from the DAG Executive Committee. Additional positions may be established depending upon interest within the caucus. The Caucus Chair will be appointed by the DAG Chair with the consultation of the Executive Committee for a term of two years. The Chair may be removed by the DAG Executive Committee at any time for conduct contrary to the interests of the caucus or DAG.
Caucus Chair Specific Job Descriptions:
Black Caucus Chair: The caucus Chair helps chapters coordinate and plan events and activities aimed at the African American community at the national level, and coordinates with DAG chapters to raise awareness of issues concerning African Americans and to promote Black History Month in February and Women's History Month in March.
Hispanic Caucus Chair: The caucus Chair helps chapters coordinate and plan events and activities aimed at the Hispanic American community at the national level, and coordinates with DAG chapters to raise awareness of issues concerning Hispanic Americans and to promote National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15-October 15.
LGBT Caucus Chair: The caucus Chair helps chapters coordinate DAG representation at Pride (CSD) events throughout Germany, helps plans events and activities both at the chapter and national level concerning LGBT issues and legislation in the United States and serves as a point person for information concerning LGBT issues.
Progressive Caucus Chair: The caucus Chair helps coordinate and plan events and activities aimed at promoting progressive issues and candidates both at the national and chapter levels.
Youth Caucus Chair: The caucus Chair helps chapters coordinate and plan events and activities at the national level and coordinates with DAG chapters, and American collegiate groups at German universities to better reach, engage, and mobilize younger DA members in Germany.
