DA Heidelberg Monthly Meeting

Please join us this Friday April 9th at 7 p.m. CEDT as we welcome our special guest, Sarah Towle, for a gripping assessment of what is happening at the U.S. - Mexico border.
You read and hear about the U.S. - Mexican border in the news - the wall, kids in cages, hordes of immigrants coming to take your jobs away and bring crime to America . . . . But what is really happening there? Why do people continue to risk everything to cross the border and what happens to them once they get across? Is there really a crisis?
Sarah will speak about the perception and the reality at the border, and also give us some context to help us better understand the situation. To get an idea of her perspective, please read her newly published article in the Daily Kos .
After she speaks, there will be time to ask questions.
Sarah Towle is an educator, historian, and author of the forthcoming book, The First Solution: Tales of Humanity from the Manufactured US Border Crisis, which aims to demystify, scrutinize, and humanize the US immigration system by elevating the tales of those caught up in it. She is also a member of DA United Kingdom.
