Vote from Germany
🇺🇸🗳📣 All Americans can vote in the 2026 Midterms. MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED AND READY TO VOTE FROM ABROAD! Do it now. Protect your vote and protect our democracy by sending in your ballot request and voting in any elections that you may be eligible for in 2026. We recommend reading your ballot carefully and voting the whole ballot.
2026 is a high‑stakes federal, state, and local election year, and overseas voters will play a decisive role. Make sure you request your ballot early, so you receive every ballot you’re entitled to.
With dozens of retirements already announced, many districts will have open-seat races, which are often more competitive and more sensitive to overseas turnout.
Overseas voters can be decisive in close Senate races, especially in states with narrow margins and high absentee participation.
There are 39 state gubernatorial elections. Many of these states will also elect lieutenant governors, attorneys general, secretaries of state, and state legislatures — all of which influence voting rights, election administration, and redistricting.
Many major U.S. cities will elect mayors in 2026, along with city councils, school boards, and local ballot initiatives. Local races often hinge on just a few hundred votes — your ballot from Germany truly matters.
25 Republicans and 19 Democrats have announced they do not plan to run again. Open seats typically see more competitive primaries and general elections, making early FPCA submission especially important so you receive all ballots, including primaries and runoffs.
All voters abroad are urged to send in an FPCA and to vote the whole ballot they receive. Even if you currently do not have an election, the FPCA will ensure you are registered as an overseas (UOCAVA) voter, update your voter information, and protect you from voter roll purges.
As a U.S. citizen, you can register to vote from abroad while living, working, or traveling overseas by submitting one form — the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). It doesn't matter if you were registered to vote before you left the U.S., how long you’ve lived outside the U.S., or if you've never resided in the U.S. at all. You have the right to vote!
The U.S. State Department recommends, “all U.S. citizens living abroad complete and submit a new Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) annually, to ensure you remain on your state’s voter rolls and to ensure your local election office has your up-to-date contact information.” Vote From Abroad provides all the information, forms, and support help in one place to make voting easy!
