ERA CONTACT U.S. SENATORS CAMPAIGN

Action

Contact your U.S. Senators to support Senate Joint Resolution 4 (SJRes 4) and Senate Joint Resolution (SJRes 39).  The bills are similar and both are to publish the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

See details below on sending EmailsPostcards or Calling.   You can also Tweet.

Guidelines

Please consider doing one or more of the following.   If you can make it personal, that often helps.

Email

You can use the below Action Button to send an email to your Senators.   You can choose to send to both or one a time.   It will allow you to customize and send the email.   If you do not see the Action Button, click here.

Please feel free to add additional text to the email.   Make sure you include your information in the closing.

Phone Calls

You can also call your Senators to ask for their support or thank them.  You can use the 'Call' button above to find the phone numbers.

Here is a sample script:

Hello, my name is {your name} and I'm a {your voting state} voter currently living in {country name}.   I'm calling to request Senator {Senator's name} to become a co-sponsor of bill SJRes 4 and SJRes 39 if not already and thank him/her if already a co-sponsor.   These bills are to publish the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Eighty five percent (85%) of all countries in the world have equal rights for women in their constitution {including where I live now (if that is true)}.   I want to see the same for my home country.

If time, explain why you, as an American living abroad, care about the Equal Rights Amendment.

I do hope that the Senator will show his/her support for women by co-sponsoring SJRes 4.

Thank you for your time.

Postcards

We recommend sending a photo postcard from your country.   This is cheaper postage, does not have to be checked for potential poison in the letter upon arrival, and should draw extra attention to the card and hopefully the message.

Here's some sample text.

I believe women should have equal rights in our U.S. Constitution.  Please support ERA bills SJR4 and SJR39.

Sincerely,

<your signature>

<your state> Voter living in <your country>
