(RECORDING) Estate Planning 101 for Americans in France
You can purchase the recording of Democrats Abroad France's special event with estate planning expert and avocat fiscal Sébastien Antomarchi, in discussion with international financial and investment expert Robert Levitt, CFA, also Deputy Chair of DA’s Taxation Task Force. Sébastien and Robert discussed the basics of French inheritance tax rules and how they apply to Americans living in France.
Issues discussed included:
- US revocable trusts
- Rules regarding receiving an inheritance from a US resident
- Rules regarding disinheriting children, charitable beneficiaries, holding property in other countries
- Issues involving US citizens to non-US citizens.
- Estate planning techniques
The aim of this event is to educate and inform about basic questions regarding French inheritance tax regulations, and answer as many questions as possible.
Speakers:
Sébastien Antomarchi is a partner at Avocats Antomarchi and Associates, a tax and corporate law firm focused on French fiscal matters including tax and estate planning and strategies for US citizens. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Institut des Avocats Conseils Fiscaux (IACF), and graduated from an engineering school with a master's degree in finance and accounting. Sébastien is licensed to represent clients before the French fiscal authorities.
Robert Levitt, CFA, is an international financial and investment expert with Levitt Capital Management, as well as the Deputy Chair of DA’s Taxation Task Force.

Participation fee: $10 to purchase the recording and presentation slides. 100% of proceeds will go to helping Democrats Abroad get out the vote in 2024.
