On April 14, Democrats Abroad Göttingen will again participate and volunteer for the March for Science in support of independent and open science. Join us 10 AM at the Gänseliesel for the Warm-up: Interactive science activities, displays, sign making opportunities, and where a variety of young scientists will answer any questions.
At 11 AM, Mayor Rolf-Georg Köhler will address the crowd and start off the March to the Platz Göttinger Sieben. We will then hear speeches from Vice President Ulf Diederichsen of Göttingen University, Prof. Stefan Treue of the Deutsches Primate Zentrum, and Dr. Maria Luisa Allemeyer, Director of future state-of-art museum Forum Wissen.
This is in response to disheartening events throughout the world that deny scientific fact, suppress science and scientists, and which literally puts humanity at risk at many levels. Many of our members have volunteered to make this serious topic a fun and engaging event. We will be one of over 15 marches in Germany, and 600 marches throughout the world.
We hope you will join us.
