Message from the Interim Chair
Since I became Interim Chair of this Caucus this summer, our Steering Committee has taken shape; we’ve held meetings and one global event; we’re building community and preparing for what’s ahead. We are reminded every day that voting is a privilege and democracy is a muscle. We use it to ensure we don’t lose it. And we learned, during our recent event, that we can also vote with our wallets – avoiding brands and products from companies that don’t align with our democratic values (replay link).
History tells us repeatedly that we must take care of ourselves and each other during troubling times. One great way to do that is to get involved!
The Global Black Caucus (GBC) has a steering committee, through which we work to strengthen our grassroots organizing, expand our community, and uplift the voices of Black Democrats abroad. We are always looking for volunteers to join, and there are currently several Co-Lead roles open, including for our priority effort – Get Out The Vote (GOTV) – as well as for the Americas Region, Justice & Equity Policy, Community Resiliency, Self-Sufficiency & Sustainability, and External Partners teams.
