Get-Out-The-Vote Coordinator (Asia-Pacific Region)

About the Position

Democrats Abroad (DA) was the margin of victory for Joe Biden in Georgia and Arizona, and we’re determined to continue delivering scale-tipping votes in races across the United States in 2021 and 2022. The Asia-Pacific (AP) GOTV Coordinator will work to mobilize overseas voters and move the needle for Democrats in the midterms. A successful AP GOTV Coordinator should have knowledge of both DA and the U.S. voting constituency abroad, as well as strong management and communication skills, to ultimately drive ballot requests and returns among the larger U.S. population abroad in the AP Region.

Upon appointment, and in collaboration with the International Chair, Get-Out-The-Vote Coordinators from all three DA Regions will collectively identify at least six additional DA members to serve on the Global GOTV Committee. The GOTV Coordinators and Global GOTV Committee will focus exclusively on developing and implementing projects designed to reach and register overseas voters. With each DA Region’s unique potential and challenges in mind, the Global GOTV Committee will create and implement a global strategic plan for academic outreach, military outreach, phonebanking, postcarding, textbanking, and other areas as deemed appropriate by the International Chair that will supplement and support DA country committees in their national-level voter outreach efforts.

  • In coordination with the AP Regional Vice Chair, motivate and work with leaders in the AP Region to successfully implement the global GOTV strategic plan

  • Organize and lead regular GOTV check-in meetings for leaders in the AP Region, especially country-level GOTV Coordinators
  • Track and report on quantitative metrics to the International Executive Committee, the Global GOTV Steering Committee, and leaders in the AP Region
  • Following the midterms, conduct final assessment of 2022 GOTV strategic plan that documents lessons learned and suggests improvements for future plans
