Juneteenth and Voting from Abroad

Join the Global Black Caucus and the Global Veterans & Military Families Caucus on Saturday, June 25th, to continue celebrating Juneteenth.  And Get Out the Vote (GOTV).

What is Juneteenth?

A holiday celebrated on June 19th commemorating enslaved people's emancipation in the US.  The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.   You can read more about the Emancipation Proclamation Act (Here).

If you want more information about Juneteenth, head to our resources page: Juneteenth Resources.
