Join Democrats Abroad for the second "Take Back Congress" Global Town Hall (by video conference) on Friday, October 21, beginning at 1:30 PM EDT (Washington DC time). This is the fourth in the 2016 series of Global Town Halls with Democrats Abroad. We will be hearing from - and asking questions of - Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate and House - and we will hear about our efforts to Take Back Congress.
We will hear House and Senate candidates talk about how their campaigns are going and how the 2016 election looks in their state - and they will answer questions from participants.
Here's the lineup for the Global Town Hall as it stands. You can check back on this for updates on speakers and other information and to RSVP. (This discussion is off the record and not open to the press)
Jim Barksdale, the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate from Georgia, is in a uphill battle against incumbent Republican Johnny Isakson - in a traditionally red state that we are working hard to turn blue for Hillary Clinton and Jim Barksdale.
State Senator Morgan Carroll is the Democratic candidate for the U.S. House seat from Colorado's 6th Congressional District. She is running against Republican incumbent Mike Coffman, but the polls are in her favor in a key race if the Democrats are going to take back the House.
State Senator Gail Schwartz, the Democratic candidate for the U.S House seat from Colorado's 3rd Congressional District, which covers the Western Slope and part of southern Colorado, is running a close campaign against incumbent Scott Tipton. She and State Senator Carroll are fighting for every vote in what is sure to be a battleground state in the Presidential race.
And others to be confirmed.
Jim Barksdale Morgan Carroll Gail Schwartz
And special videos produced for U.S. voters overseas from:
Senator Michael Bennett - the freshman Senator is running for re-election in Colorado.
Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro - the 25-year veteran from Connecticut's 3rd Congressional District with a special message for Italian-American voters and Americans in Italy.
Jamie Raskin -the candidate for the House from Maryland's 8th Congressional District - and a former Democrats Abroad member.
AND: A special message from former Vice President Al Gore about the climate crisis and the 2016 elections, made especially for Americans abroad. If you haven't seen it, you will want to tune in.
Please join us for all or part of the Town Hall on the 21st. Remember, we are Stronger Together - and Together we will win the White House and Take Back Congress.
And stay tuned, there will be another Global Town Hall on October 24 (9 AM EDT) with special guest George Takei - and others. So mark your calendars for that one as well.
