Global Youth Caucus Solidarity with Workers

A number of promising labor movements are underway throughout the U.S. For workers, the COVID-19 pandemic intensified a number of pre-existing grievances: inadequate and stagnating wages, demanding schedules, workplace safety concerns, and the notorious two-tiered wage system. The pandemic has also brought workers new leverage. Roughly 25,000 workers have recently walked off their jobs and joined picket lines, including workers at Kelloggs’s, John Deere, and Kroger. Even still, 90% of wage and salary workers are not unionized. Workers need more union support, experienced leaders, and strike funds.

Join the DA France and DA Global Youth Caucuses on Wednesday January 19th at 7PM CET for our virtual event to learn more about these movements and write letters of support to these workers as well as letters to the U.S. Department of Labor. We will provide letter templates and mailing addresses, all you need is a pen and paper! RSVP to receive Zoom link.
