While officially "non-partisan," Everett Mitchell and Janet Protasiewicz are running as liberal candidates while the other 2 are running as conservative candidates. The top 2 vote-getters will advance to the April 4 General election.

  • Vote in the Alaska Midterm Elections – November 8, 2022

ALASKA IS HOLDING ITS CRUCIAL MIDTERM ELECTIONS – MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!

    DA Data Privacy Policy

What elections are there in Alaska? What am I voting for?

Voting has never been more important and your vote is crucial!

Alaska will hold its Midterm elections for US Representatives and US Senate as well as state-wide offices for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Supreme Court, and your State Representatives and State Senators.

All Alaska overseas voters can vote in these important elections!

All overseas voters can vote for their US Representative and US Senator. AND you may also be able to vote for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Supreme Court, and your representatives to the Alaska state legislature. It depends on the category you choose when you request your ballot:

    • If you choose "intend to return": You are eligible to vote in Alaska state elections.
*You don't have to have a set date of return and it doesn't have to be within a set time frame, but you do need to have an intention to return at some time in the future.

    • If your “return is uncertain” or if you’ve “never resided” in Alaska: You won’t be eligible to vote in Alaska state elections, but you can vote for your US House Representative and US Senator.

Let’s keep Alaska’s House seat Blue! Against the odds, Mary Peltola beat Sarah Palin decisively and with your vote, she can do it again! We must hold onto this seat to keep – and expand – the Democratic majority in Congress.

And please vote in ALL the races on your ballot – Alaska state elections are hugely important! State governments are responsible for voting and for state policies on abortion and reproductive rights, climate change, education, and so many other issues that affect us no matter where we are in the world.

Electing Democrats will be crucial to ensure the 2024 elections are fair, open and inclusive. State elections can hinge on just a few votes – your vote matters!

  • Vote in the New Hampshire Midterm Elections – November 8, 2022

NEW HAMPSHIRE IS HOLDING ITS CRUCIAL MIDTERM ELECTIONS – MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!

What elections are there in New Hampshire? What am I voting for?

Voting has never been more important and your vote is crucial!

New Hampshire will hold its Midterm elections for US Representatives and US Senate as well as state-wide offices for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and your State Representatives and State Senators.

All New Hampshire overseas voters can vote in these important elections!

All overseas voters can vote for their US Representative and US Senator. Send Democrat Maggie Hassan back to the US Senate to keep – and maybe expand – the Democratic majority. Your vote is crucial! Maggie Hassan won in 2016 by about 1,000 votes (0.1%), and this election is rated as a toss-up too.

And you may also be able to vote for Governor, Executive Council members, and your representatives to the New Hampshire legislature. It depends on the category you choose when you register to vote and request your ballot:

    • If you "intend to return": You are eligible to vote in New Hampshire state elections.
*You don't have to have a set date of return and it doesn't have to be within a set time frame, but you do need to have an intention to return at some time in the future.

    • If your “return is uncertain”or if you’ve “never resided” in New Hampshire: You won’t be eligible to vote in New Hampshire state elections, but you can vote in the federal elections for the US House and US Senate.

*Please note: Registering to vote and voting doesn’t change your tax status.

But selecting “intend to return” rather than “my return is uncertain” may be one of several factors New Hampshire uses to determine whether you may be subject to state income tax. Before you note that you “intend to return” on your FPCA form, you may consider seeking advice on these matters from a tax professional.

Please vote in ALL the races on your ballot – New Hampshire state elections are hugely important! State governments are responsible for voting and for state policies on abortion and reproductive rights, climate change, education, and so many other issues that affect us no matter where we are in the world.

After you send in your ballot, make sure your vote is counted!

You can check your ballot status online using: https://app.sos.nh.gov/viphome

Or, you can email or call your local election office directly. You can find the contact information at: www.votefromabroad.org/states/NH; scroll down to "Find Your Election Office"

All New York overseas voters can vote in these important elections!

All overseas voters can vote for their US Representative and US Senator AND you may also be able to vote for Governor, Lt Governor, Attorney General, and your representatives to the New York state legislature. It depends on the category you choose when you request your ballot:

    • If you "intend to return": You are eligible to vote in New York state elections.
*You don't have to have a set date of return and it doesn't have to be within a set time frame, but you do need to have an intention to return at some time in the future.

    • If your “return is uncertain”or if you’ve “never resided” in New York: You won’t be eligible to vote in New York state elections, but you can vote in the federal elections for the US House and US Senate.

*Please note: Registering to vote and voting doesn’t change your tax status.
But selecting “intend to return” rather than “my return is uncertain” may be one of several factors New York uses to determine whether you may be subject to state income tax. Before you note that you “intend to return” on your FPCA form, you may consider seeking advice on these matters from a tax professional.

Please vote for all the races on your ballot –  New York state elections are hugely important! State governments are responsible for voting and state policies on abortion and reproductive rights, climate change, education, and so many other issues that affect us no matter where we are in the world.

Not sure who to vote for?

As part of our ongoing effort to engage Americans abroad in voting in U.S. elections, we have reached out to Democratic candidates to hear where they stand on American abroad issues. Click here to see the list of candidates running on your ballot paper and their answers to questions we asked them on taxation, Medicare portability, and the Social Security Windfall Elimination Provision.

Ohio will hold its Midterm elections for US Representatives and US Senate as well as state-wide offices for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Supreme Court, and your State Representatives and State Senators.

All Ohio overseas voters can vote in these important elections!

Ohio is always a major battleground, especially this year with an open US Senate seat. Tim Ryan has opened up a small lead against the awful J.D. Vance. This is a rare opportunity to gain a new Democratic seat and increase the Democratic majority.

And please vote for all the races on your ballot –  Ohio state elections are hugely important!

MINNESOTA IS HOLDING ITS CRUCIAL MIDTERM ELECTIONS – MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!

What elections are there in Minnesota? What am I voting for?

Voting has never been more important and your vote is crucial!

Minnesota will hold its Midterm elections for US Representatives as well as state-wide offices for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Supreme Court, and your State Representatives and State Senators.

All Minnesota overseas voters can vote in these important elections!

All overseas voters can vote for their US Representative. AND you may also be able to vote for Governor, Lt Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Supreme Court, and your representatives to the Minnesota state legislature. It depends on the category you choose when you request your ballot:

    • If you "intend to return": You are eligible to vote in Minnesota state elections.
*You don't have to have a set date of return and it doesn't have to be within a set time frame, but you do need to have an intention to return at some time in the future.

    • If your “return is uncertain”or if you’ve “never resided” in Minnesota: You won’t be eligible to vote in Minnesota state elections, but you can vote in the only federal election on the ballot this year for the US House.

*Please note: Registering to vote and voting doesn’t change your tax status.
But selecting “intend to return” rather than “my return is uncertain” may be one of several factors Minnesota uses to determine whether you may be subject to state income tax. Before you note that you “intend to return” on your FPCA form, you may consider seeking advice on these matters from a tax professional.

It’s vital to keep Michigan Democratic! Vote to re-elect Democrats Gov Gretchen Witmer, Secy of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel. And we have an excellent chance to take control of one or both houses in the Michigan State Legislature – we only need to flip 3 seats in the House and 4 seats in the Senate.

Michiganders can now vote on two important ballot initiatives! Reproductive Freedom For All, to secure the right to choose in Michigan, and Promote the Vote 2022, to protect the right to vote by, among other things, requiring that overseas ballots be counted if the ballot is postmarked by election day (currently, ballots must be received in Michigan by the close of polls on election day).

And it's so important that Democrats hold onto -- and possibly expand -- their 4-3 majority on the Michigan Supreme Court! Two of the seats, one currently held by a Democrat and the other by a Republican, are up for election. Five candidates are vying, and the top 2 will win the 8 year terms. Be sure to vote for BOTH of the Democratic nominees: Richard Bernstein (incumbent) and Kyra Harris Bolden. For more information, please click here.

All Illinois overseas voters can vote in these important elections!

All overseas voters can vote for their US Representative and US Senator. AND you may also be able to vote for Governor, Lt Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, and your representatives to the Illinois state legislature. It depends on the category you choose when you request your ballot:

    • If you "intend to return": You are eligible to vote in Illinois state elections.
*You don't have to have a set date of return and it doesn't have to be within a set time frame, but you do need to have an intention to return at some time in the future.

    • If your “return is uncertain”: You won’t be eligible to vote in Illinois state elections, but you can vote in the federal elections for the US House and US Senate.
*Please note: Registering to vote and voting doesn’t change your tax status.

But selecting “intend to return” rather than “my return is uncertain” may be one of several factors Illinois uses to determine whether you may be subject to state income tax. Before you note that you “intend to return” on your FPCA form, you may consider seeking advice on these matters from a tax professional.

Please vote for all the races on your ballot –  Illinois state elections are hugely important!
