New York tendrá una segunda Primaria Demócrata el 23 de agosto para elegir Representantes nacionales y Senadores estatales.  Los ganadores de las elecciones Primarias Demócratas se postularán en contra de los Republicanos el 8 de noviembre del 2022 en la Elección General.

Todos los votantes en el extranjero pueden votar para elegir su Representantes nacionales. Es posible que usted también pueda elegir los candidatos demócratas para Senador estatal de New York. Todo depende de la categoría que usted elija cuando se registre para votar y pida su boleta:

• Si usted tiene intenciones de volver: usted es elegible para votar en las elecciones estatales de New York.  *No necesita tener una fecha de vuelta concreta y tampoco tiene que ser en un marco de tiempo específico, pero sí necesita tener las intenciones de volver en algún momento en el futuro.

2)  Cuándo Reciba Su Boleta, Rellénela Y Retornela Por Correo De Inmediato

Las boletas serán enviadas el 9 de julio  del 2022. Si usted pidió que su boleta sea enviada por correo electrónico asegúrese mirar en sus carpetas secundarias y sus carpetas de correo chatarra.

Cuando reciba su boleta rellénela y retornela por correo de inmediato. Su boleta debe ser matasellada no más tarde que el 23 de agostos y debe ser recibida el 30 de agostos den New York.

New York will hold a second Democratic Primary on August 23 for US House of Representatives and NY State Senate. The winners of these Democratic primary races will go up against the Republicans in the November 8, 2022 General Election.

Not sure who to vote for?

All overseas voters can vote for their US Representative. You may also be able to vote to choose the Democratic candidates for your New York state senator. It depends on the category you choose when you register to vote and request your ballot:

• If you "intend to return": You are eligible to vote in New York state elections.
  *You don't have to have a set date of return and it doesn't have to be within a set time frame, but you do need to have an intention to return at some time in the future.
  
  
• If your “return is uncertain”: You won’t be eligible to vote in New York state elections, but you can still vote in the federal election for the US House.

*Please note: Because the legal requirements to establish “residence” or “domicile” for tax purposes are determined by state law and the specific facts of your life, before you note that you intend to return on your form, you may consider seeking advice on these matters from a tax professional. 

New York state elections are hugely important! Democratic control of New York state government is already taking the lead to protect New Yorkers in light of the Supreme Court's abysmal rulings on abortion rights and gun control.

And we can't stop now! State government is responsible for voting and state policies regarding reproductive health care, climate change, gun control, education, health insurance, net neutrality, student loans, and more affect us no matter where we go around the world.

And now's the time to get ready for the November 8 Midterm elections! The Democratic majority in the US House could hinge on your vote. New boundaries drawn up after the 2020 Census have left several excellent Democrats in tough races but have also opened the door to electing Democrats to new seats. 

1) Register to Vote and Request Your Ballot Today

If you haven’t received your ballot yet for 2022, request it now! It’s past the deadline for the Primary, but you’ll be signed up to get a ballot for November 8 Midterm election.

Go to www.votefromabroad.org and follow the prompts to fill out the form to request your ballot, the Federal Post Card Application form (FPCA). (If needed, it will also serve as a voter registration.) To ensure you receive your ballot in time, please check the box on the FPCA to have your blank ballot sent to you by “Email/Online” or “Fax”.

You can send in your FPCA by email (recommended) or fax or postal mail.
*We recommend you send it in by email to meet the deadline for your FPCA to get to New York, but you must also send in a signed copy by mail and it must be received in New York by November 21. (You may place the signed FPCA in the outer envelope when you mail back your voted ballot.)

• If you are registered to vote, you MUST still send in an FPCA to request your ballot in 2022. Your FPCA must be received by November 1, 2022.
  
  
• If you are NOT registered to vote, your FPCA must be received by October 19, 2022.
  
  *Special Early Deadline for Mailing in Voter Registration: If you are registering to vote and you send in your FPCA by mail, it must be postmarked no later than October 14 and received by October 19. 

2) If You Have Your Primary Ballot, Mail It Back Right Away

To be counted in the NY Primary, your ballot must be postmarked no later than August 23 AND it also must be received in New York by August 30, 2022. 

3) Confirm That Your Ballot Was Accepted and Counted

After you send in your ballot, make sure your vote is counted!

1) Register to Vote and Request Your Ballot Today

It's easy to request your ballot. And your ballot request covers all elections in 2022, so send the form in now and ensure your ballot for the November 8th General election.

Special Deadline: If you send in your ballot by courier (such as FedEx or DHL), it must be received in Ohio by August 2, 2022, at 7:30pm Ohio time.

3) Confirm That Your Ballot Was Accepted and Counted

Mark Kelly se postula sin oposición en la Primaria Demócrata para el Senado de la nación, pero es un asiento clave y tendrá una carrera difícil contra el nominado republicano en noviembre. “El estado de Kansas se enfrenta a una elección clave este agosto. Nuestro derecho constitucional de tomar una decisión personal sobre nuestra salud está en serio riesgo. La gente de Kansas se merece el derecho de tomar decisiones acerca de su salud sin la interferencia política o del gobierno. La enmienda constitucional en la boleta de la primaria del 2 de agosto le da el poder a los políticos de prohibir el aborto por completo.

Los Republicanos de Kansas quieren ponerse entre medio de una mujer y su doctor aún en casos de violación, incesto o complicaciones médicas . Al poner la enmienda en la boleta de la primaria del 2 de agosto los políticos están jugando sucio y tratan de esconder la enmienda de los votantes porque saben que históricamente la gente no va a las urnas durante estas elecciones. Necesitamos que todos los votantes demócratas de Kansas, estén donde estén en el mundo, voten en la primaria. El partido Demócrata de Kansas hará todo lo posible para defender el acceso al aborto y elegir demócratas que defenderán los derechos reproductivos de todos los ciudadanos de Kansas.

Kansas se convertirá en el primer Estado en votar sobre las libertades reproductivas después de la decisión de la Corte Suprema. La enmienda constitucional en la boleta del 2 de agosto marcara el paso hacia una prohibición total del aborto en Kansas, debemos votar NO.”

Enmienda Constitucional

Con 2/3 de los votos de la legislatura de Kansas, se colocará una enmienda constitucional en la boleta del 2 de agosto de 2022. Esta pregunta estará al final de todas las boletas y cada votante registrado en Kansas es elegible para votar sobre esta pregunta. Si usted no está afiliado con un partido político que tendrá su primaria usted aún será elegible para votar en una boleta no partidista que incluye la enmienda constitucional.

Un voto a favor de la enmienda Value Them Both (Valorarlos a Ambos) afirmaría que no existe derecho constitucional al aborto en Kansas ni exige que el gobierno financie abortos, y reservaría a la gente de Kansas, a través de sus legisladores estatales electos, el derecho de pasar leyes para regular el aborto.

Un voto en contra de la enmienda Value Them Both (Valorarlos a Ambos) no haría ningún cambio constitucional al estado de Kansas, y podría restringir a la gente, a través de sus legisladores estatales electos, de regular el aborto al mantener el derecho al aborto recientemente reconocido.

What elections are there in Missouri? What am I voting for?

Missouri will hold a Democratic Primary on August 2 for US Representatives and US Senate as well as your State Representatives and State Senators. The winners of these Democratic primary races will go up against the Republicans in the November 8, 2022 General Election.

All Missouri overseas voters can vote in these crucial races.

In the US Senate race, we have an excellent opportunity to gain a new Democratic seat as Republican Roy Blunt is retiring. And think of the progress Missouri could make in education, health, climate change, and so many other areas if we elect more Democrats to the Missouri State Legislature. 

And please vote your full ballot, Missouri state elections are hugely important! State government is responsible for voting and state policies regarding climate change, abortion and reproductive rights, education, healthcare, net neutrality, student loans, and more that affect us no matter where we go around the world.

1) Register to Vote and Request Your Ballot Today

It's easy to request your ballot. And your ballot request covers all elections in 2022, so send the form in now and ensure your ballot for the August 2th Primary and for the November 8th General election.

Go to www.votefromabroad.org and follow the prompts to fill out the form to request your ballot, the Federal Post Card Application form (FPCA). (If needed, it will also serve as a voter registration.) To ensure you receive your ballot in time, please check the box on the FPCA to have your blank ballot sent to you by “Email/Online” or “Fax”.

You can send in your FPCA to your local election office in Missouri by email (recommended) or fax or mail. 

To vote in the August 2 Primary, your form must be received by July 29.

What elections are there in Michigan? What am I voting for?

Michigan will hold a Democratic Primary on August 2 for US Representatives as well as Governor and your State House Representatives. The winners of these Democratic primary races will go up against the Republicans in the November 8, 2022 General Election.

All Michigan overseas voters can vote in these crucial races.

Gretchen Whitmer is running unopposed in the Democratic Primary for Governor, but she’s going to face a tough race against the Republican nominee in November. A big turnout in the Primary will help galvanize support for the November General election.

And please vote your full ballot, Michigan state elections are hugely important! State government is responsible for voting and state policies regarding climate change, abortion and reproductive rights, education, healthcare, net neutrality, student loans, and more that affect us no matter where we go around the world.

Democrats have an excellent chance to take control of one or both houses in the Michigan State Legislature in November. We only need to flip 3 seats in the House and 4 seats in the Senate.

It's easy to request your ballot. And your ballot request covers all elections in 2022, so send the form in now and ensure your ballot for the August 2th Primary and for the November 8th General election.

Go to www.votefromabroad.org and follow the prompts to fill out the form to request your ballot, the Federal Post Card Application form (FPCA). (If needed, it will also serve as a voter registration.) To ensure you receive your ballot in time, please check the box on the FPCA to have your blank ballot sent to you by “Email/Online” or “Fax”.

You can send in your FPCA to your local election office in Michigan by email (recommended) or fax or mail.

• If you are registered to vote, you MUST still send in an FPCA to request your ballot in 2022 to vote in the August 2 Democratic Primary. Your FPCA must be received by July 30, at 2pm Michigan time.

2) When You Get Your Ballot, Fill It Out and Send It Back Right Away

Statement from KDP Chair Vicki Hiatt Urging All Kansas Voters to VOTE NO on the Amendment to the Kansas State Constitution:

“The state of Kansas faces a critical election this August. Our constitutional right to make personal healthcare decisions is at serious risk. Kansans deserve the right to make personal health care decisions, free from political or government interference. The constitutional amendment on the August 2nd primary ballot gives politicians the power to ban abortion completely.

Kansas Republicans want to get between a woman and her doctor, even in the case of rape, incest, or medical complications – and putting the amendment on the August 2022 primary ballot is a way to play dirty politics and hide it from voters in the historically low-turnout election. We need every Kansas Democratic voter, wherever you are in the world, to vote in this primary election. The Kansas Democratic Party will do everything in our power to defend access to abortion and elect Democrats who will defend reproductive freedoms for all Kansans.

Kansas is set to be the first state in line to vote on reproductive freedom following the Supreme Court decision. On August 2nd, the constitutional amendment on the ballot will pave the way for a total ban on abortion in Kansas --- we must vote NO!”

Constitutional Amendment

By two-thirds vote of the Kansas Legislature, a constitutional amendment will be placed on the August 2, 2022 ballot. This question will be at the end of every ballot and every registered voter in Kansas is eligible to vote on this question. If you are not affiliated with a political party holding a primary election, you will be eligible to vote a nonpartisan ballot that includes the constitutional amendment.

As passed by the Kansas House and Senate, the following language will be printed on the ballot:

Explanatory statement. The Value Them Both Amendment would affirm there is no Kansas constitutional right to abortion or to require the government funding of abortion, and would reserve to the people of Kansas, through their elected state legislators, the right to pass laws to regulate abortion, including, but not limited to, in circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, or when necessary to save the life of the mother.

A vote for the Value Them Both Amendment would affirm there is no Kansas constitutional right to abortion or to require the government funding of abortion, and would reserve to the people of Kansas, through their elected state legislators, the right to pass laws to regulate abortion.

A vote against the Value Them Both Amendment would make no changes to the constitution of the state of Kansas, and could restrict the people, through their elected state legislators, from regulating abortion by leaving in place the recently recognized right to abortion.

Shall the following be adopted?

• 22. Regulation of abortion.Because Kansans value both women and children, the constitution of the state of Kansas does not require government funding of abortion and does not create or secure a right to abortion. To the extent permitted by the constitution of the United States, the people, through their elected state representatives and state senators, may pass laws regarding abortion, including, but not limited to, laws that account for circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, or circumstances of necessity to save the life of the mother.

What elections are there in Arizona? What am I voting for?

Arizona will hold a Democratic Primary on August 2 for US Representatives and US Senate as well as state-wide offices such as Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, and your state representatives and state senators. The winners of these Democratic primary races will go up against the Republicans in the November 8, 2022 General Mid-term Election.

All Arizona overseas voters can vote in these crucial races.

All overseas voters can vote for their US Representative and US Senator. Mark Kelly is running unopposed in the Democratic Primary for US Senate, but this is a crucial seat and he’s going to face a tough race against the Republican nominee in November. A big turnout in the Primary will help galvanize support for the November General election.

And you may also be able to vote to choose the Democratic candidates for Governor, Lt Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and your representatives to the Arizona state legislature. It depends on the category you choose when you register to vote and request your ballot:

• If you "intend to return": You are eligible to vote in Arizona state elections.
  *You don't have to have a set date of return and it doesn't have to be within a set time frame, but you do need to have an intention to return at some time in the future.
  
  
• If your “return is uncertain” or if you've "never resided" in Arizona: You won’t be eligible to vote in Arizona state elections, but you can still vote in the federal election for the US House and US Senate.
