Come on our “Secret Rome” walk, guided by Tiffany Parks, DA Italy member, author, travel writer and tour organizer, and podcaster based right here in Rome.
This intimate tour is limited to just 12 participants, and is designed to showcase hidden masterpieces, quiet corners, and extraordinary spaces that most visitors, and plenty of long-time residents, simply miss.
We’ll begin in the backstreets of Trastevere at Santa Cecilia, where we will climb to the secluded choir loft (€3 entry fee) and marvel at the stunning “lost” Cavallini frescoes. From there, we’ll slip into the tiny medieval jewel of San Benedetto in Piscinula, home to the cell where St. Benedict is said to have slept 1,500 years ago.
We’ll then cross the Tiber Island and stroll over Ponte Fabricio, the oldest working bridge in Rome, before winding through the Jewish Ghetto to the elegant but often-overlooked Piazza Mattei. The route continues to Piazza della Minerva, where we’ll visit Santa Maria sopra Minerva to see Michelangelo’s powerful Risen Christ away from the usual crowds. We’ll finish at the extraordinary, rarely visited Biblioteca Casanatense, a historic library where you will feel as if you are stepping straight into another century.
Space is strictly limited to 12 participants, so reserve your spot early to join us for this unique deep dive into Rome’s secret treasures that most people never experience.
€30 per person (paid on site to Helenka) €3 to visit Santa Cecilia Minimum number of participants 9; maximum 12.
