International Women's Day: A Primer on Black Female Activism

On International Women's Day, during our last GPP event, long-time activist and DA supporter Nicole Pearson will host a talk entitled, "A Primer on Black female activism: Organizing as if your lives depended on it."

Black female activism is not the stuff of legend nor the province of heroes but the domain of every day working class Black women making a way out of no way. Their insistence on holding democracy to its highest ideals helped extend democracy to many disenfranchised populations including women and indigenous people.

How can their work inspire us in this critical political climate?

Come join us as we spend the evening exploring their legacy.
