Vancouver Pixels, Pints, and Politics: Education and Identity Politics

This month we will be marking Indigenous Peoples Day (August 9th) with a discussion on Critical Race Theory and its intersection with Indigenous issues. We would like to particularly invite People of Color and Indigenous People to attend and share their perspectives as we seek to build an understanding of the racial and cultural divides in both Canada and the US today.

Democrats Abroad Vancouver will give an introduction to Critical Race Theory, its definition and history, and contemporary policies being advanced at the state level that relate to it. We will then facilitate a respectful discussion focusing on the lived experience of those directly affected by these policies.

When:  August 15th, 6:30 PM PDT - 8:00 PM PDT
