In solidarity with the "March for Our Lives" on March 24, Democrats Abroad Lyon is organizing this rally to remember children slain in recent school massacres and show our support of the brave and eloquent students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
We will commemorate the children and young adults who lost their lives in mass shootings in their schools in America by reading aloud their names. From Columbine to Sandy Hook to Parkland...
And, along with those marching around the world, we will demand sensible gun control legislation so that the lives of Americans and their safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in US schools today!
In America, no child should go to school afraid of being shot. No parent should send their child to school in fear of gun violence. So, to the US Congress, we say #neveragain #thoughtsandprayersarenotenough

Former Chair Democrats Abroad Lyon
I became a member of the Democratic Party in 1968, another very turbulent time. I believe in the values that Democrats have fought for throughout these years. I have lived in Texas, California, Switzerland and England; my husband and I now live in Jassans-Riottier north of Lyon. I studied political science at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with degrees in Education and Fine Art. I have worked as a public school teacher and as a costumer in the motion picture industry. I am now retired but continue my fine art studio practice in which I often address social political issues. As chair of the Lyon chapter of Democrats Abroad I am working with our board to establish an active group that supports the interests and needs of Americans in our area and to promote the values of the Democratic Party.
