Toronto Tax Seminar (In Person)

Did you know that June 15th is the IRS's tax filing date for US Citizens living abroad?  We have an automatic extension to file our taxes, if no tax is due. With the US-Canada Tax Treaty, an average incomed American in Canada will not owe tax!  

Democrats Abroad Toronto is excited to offer our first In Person Tax Seminar in many years! It is part or our organization's continuing efforts to help educate Americans living in Canada on financial topics - especially areas covered by unique treaties between the US and Canada. 

This seminar will focus on tax basics, information for non-filers and includes a Question and Answer period. 

• Basic U.S. income tax filing requirements for U.S. citizens living abroad, and the impact of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act  (FATCA) on filing requirements and IRS detection risk for delinquent filers.
• Submission of overdue or amended tax filings under the IRS’ Streamlined Foreign Offshore Procedures (SFOP).
• Alternate means for submission of overdue or amended IRS filings.
