Athens: Museum Outing

Art: It's more than just a picture on a wall!

Athens Chapter starts off March with a visit to the National Museum of Contemporary Art. But note! While the event marks the beginning of women's month, men are welcome, too. The venue will be of interest to all.

Housed in the re-purposed FIX building, the museum offers permanent and visiting exhibitions, studio space, educational projects and a look at what the 'art' of architecture can do for a building that sat vacant for several decades.

The March 5th outing, suggested by DAGR Treasurer Marion Kavallieros, will start off with a guided tour of the facility at 6 p.m. (Gather together at 5:45!)

Tables are reserved for dinner in the 4th floor restaurant at 7:30. €15 per person covers entrance and the guided tour. Pay at the door.

We do need your RSVP to give a count to the restaurant.

Arrive by train, tram, bus or taxi.

  • Access for people with reduced mobility is from the entrance on Syngrou Avenue.
  • 280 m. away from SYNGROU-FIX Metro station (Line 2)
  • 300 m. from FIX Tram station.
