In May, we will take a critical look at Artificial Intelligence. As the AI arms race accelerates, the technology designed to elevate society increasingly threatens to deepen economic inequality, empower autocratic regimes, and disrupt democratic processes. Join us for a critical conversation unpacking the geopolitical, economic, and security realities of an AI-driven world. Discover what is truly at stake when algorithms collide with global power, and how we can begin to govern the code before it governs us.
We will examine various facets of democracy in group discussions facilitates by political scientistMichael Contarino, Professor Emeritus at the University of New Hampshire.
Contarino founded and directed the Politics and Society program at UNH-Manchester, the UNH-in-Italy program, and the UNH-Manchester Florence program at Palazzo Rucellai. He has taught World Politics, US and World Affairs, International Relations Theory, Politics and Society, Dictatorship and Democracy, Politics and Propaganda in Film, The Politics of Food, and Business, Government, and Society, among other topics.
