This is a quick mid-month update with Urgent Actions and Upcoming Events.
There are 3 Priority Actions right now (below). Everyone wants to do something to fight for our country. These are 3 actions we can all do.
Our Voting Rights are being attacked - it's time to act!
ONE - Request Your Overseas Ballot now by submitting your FPCA via www.votefromabroad.org
With the SAVE Act headed to the Senate, and a Trump Executive Order rolling out to make voting from abroad massively more difficult, now is the time to request your ballot (and ask your friends to register too). It's good practice to submit at the beginning of each year but THIS YEAR...we need to be prepared and protect our vote as much as possible.
Every vote, every office matters! Please request your ballot ASAP if you haven't already. Go to www.votefromabroad.org to get started. 
TWO - Call or Write Your Senators and tell them to VOTE NO on the SAVE Act.
The SAVE Act passed the House last week and now moves on to the Senate. It is critical to contact ALL Senators. If the SAVE Act passes the Senate it will make it much more difficult or impossible for millions of Americans to vote - including us overseas!! We cannot lose our right to vote!
PLEASE ACT!! - This affects us all!

THREE - Ensure Overseas Ballots are Counted in the 2024 North Carolina Supreme Court Election
Allison Riggs beat Jefferson Griffin by 734 votes in November for a seat on the State Supreme Court. It is being challenged in the courts.
On Friday, April 11, the NC State Supreme Court ruled that 5,000 military and overseas voters from last year’s State Supreme Court election will need to provide a copy of their Photo ID or else their votes won't be counted. Once the state board of elections starts the clock, voters will have 30 days to fix their registration and make sure their vote is counted.

Take Action Tuesdays
DASA is piloting a weekly 30 minute action-focused session where we share critical actions and provide members with a weekly timeslot to follow through on these or other actions of interest. Actions may include writing to our Members of Congress or other elected officials, reaching out to other US Citizens to share info, signing a petition, sharing relevant posts on social media etc.
We all want to "do something" - this is a way of scheduling it in, making it a habit and building community at the same time. It's a great opportunity for us to connect. Members are encouraged to contribute ideas and resources for the actions.
We'll keep honing the format as we go and will decide in a few weeks if members would like to continue into the coming months.
