Celebrating the Life & Legacy of MLK

In partnership with the American Church in Paris, the Diversity Caucus will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with an event in the church's beautiful sanctuary. This is the same church MLK visited in October of 1965, the same pulpit from which he delivered a powerful sermon (which is now decorated with a wooden carving of Dr. King).

The program will include a welcome from church clergy, excerpts from Martin Luther King's writings and speeches as well as a panel discussion on the life and legacy of the civil rights icon. Panelists include:

Velma Bury - Retired professor and political activist
Joel Dreyfuss - Journalist, author and founding member of the National Association of Black Journalists
Jake Lamar - Author (6 novels including Bourgeois Blues), essayist and playwright
Pap Ndiaye - Professor, Sciences Po
Nita Wiggins - Author (Civil Rights Baby)
Thomas Chatterton Williams - Journalist & author (Losing My Cool)
Seating is limited and this event is open to all so please RSVP as soon as possible.
