-----
The Families Belong Together movement quickly spread across the U.S. following the “zero tolerance” policies of the Trump administration that led to thousands of children of being separated from their parents across the southern border, with reports that they are being shipped across the country to enter the foster care system. It is unclear how children already separated will be reunited with their families. Trump’s response to the uproar has been to issue an executive order than will detain entire families with children, indefinitely. This is unacceptable. This rhetoric continues to been divisive, full of half truths and outright lies, as he continues to target immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers as criminals and people to fear.

Democrats Abroad, along with other coalition organizations in the US and overseas, call upon legislators to ensure that there is a safe, expedited solution to reunify those families that have been separated, and to offer a reasonable solution for asylum seekers and immigrants.
