Dear Democrats Abroad Caribbean Islands member,

This message comes to you with the very best wishes for the coming year.

The 2024 elections are over, and we can't change those results — but there are still so many things we can do to support democracy. Here are five key actions:

1) Join us online on Wednesday, January 15th. Meet the DA Caribbean Islands Executive Committee and other members. On the Agenda:

5 PM AST (Eastern Caribbean islands)

4 PM EST (Jamaica, Bahamas, Cayman Islands)

• Greetings and intros of new people

• Overseas voter registration for 2025

• DA Membership Count

a) This month we are working to confirm contact info for our members. We are looking for volunteers to help with this by contacting members on your island - let us know if you’re interested!

Chair - Kristin Deason has recently taken on the role of chair and will stay in the role if no objection

Co-chair - OPEN (must identify as male in accordance with DA diversity policy)

Member at Large - Christine Burstein will stay in the role if no objection

Secretary - OPEN

  Treasurer - OPEN

Communications Director - Sally Erdle will stay in the role if no objection

Events Coordinator - Lisa Pegram has recently taken on this role and will continue if no objection

Social Media Director - Chloe Williams has recently taken on this role and will continue if no objection

2)  REGISTER TO VOTE IN 2025! If you vote from overseas, you must register every year to vote in that calendar year's elections. January 15th is also International Voter Registration Day. Contact the election office where you vote to register for 2025. Find your election office here: www.usa.gov/state-election-office

3)   Want to help on the regional level? Our DA Caribbean Islands Executive Committee needs YOU! Our Executive Committee elections are coming up early in the new year and candidates/nominations are now welcome. If you're interested in a DA Caribbean Islands Executive Committee position please reply to this email or join our meeting on the 15th.

4).  Want to help right on your island? We are looking for Island Representatives in:

Jamaica

Trinidad & Tobago

The Bahamas

The ABC Islands

The BVI and Anguilla

Martinique, Guadeloupe and St Barths

Cuba

Dominica

Montserrat

Saba and Statia

St Kitts & Nevis

The Turks & Caicos
