Holiday Dinner in Frankfurt December 5th starting at 5:00 PM

The Frankfurt Greater Hessen Chapter will celebrate the 2025 holidays with a potluck dinner on Friday, December 5th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  To keep costs down, we will get together at Sebastian-Rinz-Str. 22, 60323 Frankfurt (in the undercroft of the Angliacn / Episcopal Church of Christ the King ) to share food, drink, discussion and holiday fun!  Beverages (water, juice, beer and wine) will be available for purchase to defray the rental expense. There is free parking and a U-Bahn stop nearby.

To RSVP click below and to let us know what dish you will be bringing or to volunteer to set up or clean up, please send an email to Melinda at [email protected].  It is not a requirement to bring a dish but we kindly ask everyone who can to do so.

Driving to Sebastian Rinz Str. and parking there can be a little tricky. Here are some tips:

For people who can take public transportation, it is easiest to take the U1, U2, or U3 to Miquelalle and then walk to CTK from there. This is probably easiest fro those coming from Frankfurt with access to the U-Bahn.

Those traveling southbound (from Oberursel, Bad Homburg, Friedberg, etc.) or northbound (from Neu Isenburg, Darmstadt, etc.) on the A5, and those traveling eastbound on the A66 from the west (Eschborn, Hofheim, Wiesbaden, etc.) should look for the pedestrian bridge over Miquelalle (the "Füßgängerbrücke Grünebergpark", see photo attached). The pedestrian bridge runs just behind the church, so those driving into Frankfurt from the west would need to know that they must turn right immediately after that bridge. To do so, they need to cross a solid white line to merge right and make an immediate right turn into Sebastian-Rinz-Straße. This is tricky, and you need to slow down and look right carefully at the two lanes of merging traffic.

For those traveling westbound on Miquelalle, there are often free places to park along the Miquelalle outbound between Fresenius-Straße and Joachim-Becher-Straße. They can walk across the pedestrian bridge (just behind and slightly obscured on the right by the roadsigns), and use the sidewalk at the bottom of the pedestrian bridge ramp to the left that leads directly along the south side of the church (see photo below).

There is a faux medieval tower (the "Rapunzelturm") that serves as a good landmark (see photo below). It is on the corner of Miquelalle and Sebastian-Rinz-Straße. The chruch is right next to it.

Finally while there is free parking on Sebastian Rinz Str., it is still often hard to find an unoccupied space. It is permissible to park on the sidewalk between Miquelallee and the church building, and people may also park just a few meters beyond CTK off the Miquelallee in front of the Adorno Gymnasisum, where there is plentiful parking.

We are looking forward to meeting up in person to reflect on what we’ve done in 2025 and cast our eyes on 2026.
