Calling current chapter members and future members in Kaiserslautern and Saarland! Come celebrate the 40th anniversary of DA: Kaiserslautern and Saarland Chapter!
Do you find yourself like American poet Emily Dickenson melancholically eyeing "a certain slant of light, winter afternoons, that oppresses, like the heft of Cathedral tunes" since the election? Then join DA: Kaiserslautern-Saarland for an evening of good cheer at Zur Feiermaus in Kaiserslautern on 16 December at 1900. We have reason to empty the wine- and beer-cups celebrating the chapter's 40th anniversary as we discuss soberly our tomorrows of the nation's business that entangles us.
The chapter is in need of filling leadership positions. If you would like anything added to our agenda, please connect.
In the spirit of New Englander Emily Dickenson, everyone is invited to join in a yankee swap. Each person brings a wrapped/bagged/newspaper-covered gift of minor value and each guest walks away with a different gift from the game. We will place gifts into a pile. Each person draws a number. The person with the lowest number goes first. The first person chooses a gift from the gift pile, opens the gift for all, and keeps it for the time being. Each person in order, can either choose to take an unopened gift from the pile or swap a gift from any previous gift-opener. After all turns have been taken, the first person has the option of taking one more turn since this person had a disadvantage at the start. Fun is promised.
Bring yourself and friends. DA: Kaiserslautern-Saarland is here for Americans stationed temporally in the KMC or those living in Germany for the long haul. Our goal is to help keep Americans connected to the political process back in the US and to our local community in Germany.
