Are you a book enthusiast who enjoys exploring the politics, history, culture and global impact of the United States? Do you crave engaging in lively and thoughtful discussions with like-minded individuals? If so, the DA Denmark Book Club is the perfect place for you!
We read some exceptional books this past year, including "The Year of Living Constitutionally" by A.J. Jacobs, "On Freedom" by Timothy Snyder, and "Gunfight" by Ryan Busse. We looked at immigration from different angles in the books: "Solito" an intensely moving memoir by Javier Zamora, "How Migration Really Works" by migration expert Hein de Haas, and "Triangle" by David von Drehle, which covered work done by immigrants in the early 1900s and how their struggles helped reform labor laws in the US.
Now, it's time to plan our next year of reading, and we'd love to have your input! Join us for our online planning session on Tuesday, September 16th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This gathering will be an excellent opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new members, and collectively choose the books that will ignite our discussions for the next few months. Looking for some inspiration? Then check out the "Want to Read" list on our Good Reads account.
If you share a passion for reading and engaging in captivating conversations, we can't wait to have you join us as we continue to explore the world of books and ideas!
