DA Toulouse Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King
RSVPDate: Sunday, September 24
Time: 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Place: At the Phoenix Statue in Compans Caffarelli Gardens in Toulouse
It has been 60 years since Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I have a dream" speech in Washington, D.C.
As Democrats Abroad we would like to come together and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and talk about how far we've come and how far we have to go for everyone's rights in the USA. We will be inspired with music and song provided by Vocal Colors Gospel Choir.
The Phoenix Statue was a gift from the city of Atlanta, the sister-city of Toulouse, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the twin cities in 2009. Atlanta is also where Martin Luther King, Jr. was born.
As this is our event for the rentrée politique going into the 2024 election year, and as DA France is low on funds, this event is a fundraiser. We are asking everyone to donate a minimum of $15 to DA France. Your contribution helps Democrats Abroad France mobilize US overseas voters living all across France.
If you are not able to attend this event but would like to make a donation to Democrats Abroad France to help us get out the vote in 2024, click here.
For those who are interested, we can meet for a drink after the event at the Botanist Pub.
Hoping to see you there!
