Cookie Swap, Kiez meetups, Primary ballots! Plus, help find a home for a 2020 Berlin HQ

Happy Thanksgiving! It was great seeing everyone at the potluck of side dishes and Turkey Trot this past weekend. Here are some photos (on Facebook) from this weekend:

We’re grateful for all the active members and volunteers who make all our get-togethers, voter outreach, and political events possible.

To round out 2019, our last chapter meeting of the year will be this Tuesday Dec 3, 2019. Bring your favorite holiday sweets for a cookie swap and to appreciate all our volunteers! ►Details & RSVP

Our newly minted kiez captains are already organizing get-togethers in their neighborhoods. Scroll down below to find out if there’s one near you.

We’re looking for a temporary Berlin headquarters during 2020 for voter registration and phone banking. Know of an empty office near transit with great internet? Let us know below!

Have you filled out a candidate petition yet? Make sure your favorite Democratic contender makes it onto the Democrats Abroad Global Primary ballot, details below.

Updates

Wanted: Location for a Democrats Abroad Berlin headquarters

While we’ve been doing research and getting in touch with potential locations for a temporary 2020 Berlin HQ, we need your help in finding a place.

Do you know of a space that might be available next year? Check out what we’re looking for in a location:

  • Available for at least 6 months (May through October)
  • Central, accessible location
  • Access on nights and weekends
  • Solid internet connection
  • Room for 4-6 people at desks
  • Storage (minimal, just for flyers and voter info material)

That’s the summary — here are more details about what we we’re looking for. Got a lead? Drop us a line: [email protected]

Get your 2020 candidates on the primary ballot!

Democrats Abroad’s Global Presidential Primary will take place from March 3-10, 2020. To get on the primary ballot, each candidate needs at least 300 signatures from Democrats Abroad members by January 6, 2020.

Many are just a few signatures from getting on the primary ballot, so visit the candidate petitions page to make sure your favorites make it! You’ll need to log in in to sign, but you can sign as many petitions as you’d like.

Become a Kiez captain for your neighborhood

Berlin is a city of neighborhoods, so we’ve started Kiez Captains to get out the vote and help connect neighbors and volunteers in different areas.

They’re laying the groundwork to mobilize in every corner of Berlin in 2020. It’s a 5-hour a month commitment. Write [email protected] for more info and if you’d like to become a Kiez Captain in your neighborhood.
