Village of St Triphon Walk and Picnic

Our walk starts at 11:30am, up through the village to the tower, the views are stunning! Over to the ruin of the chapel and through the woods in a circle back to the picnic tables for lunch, about 12:30. 1 hour walking tour total at a leisurely pace. No real need for walking sticks. For those who wish to visit the Botanical garden they can do that after lunch. 

Lunch
Bring a picnic lunch. Vivian and Charles will provide tea, coffee, wine, beer, and paper plates, forks, cups and a big salad and dessert. We will picnic at the Tower on top of the hill beyond the Botanical gardens.

Directions
By car: Exit the St Triphon exit from the highway just past the Aigle exit if coming from Montreux or just past St Maurice if coming from Sion. Exit, follow the signs. Park at the official parking in the center of the Village by the school.

By train: To Aigle then change for the green regional tram to Ollon. Then walk, follow signs for St Triphon, its a 15-20 min walk to the central fountain in St Triphon at meeting point.

Meet up
At 11:30am at the fountain, center of St Triphon village, near the old school (has WC) on the rue de l’Ancienne Collège. Bring a water bottle and if it is just raining lightly, bring a raincoat and non-slip shoes. See map for locations.

If it rains lightly we can still do the lunch but at our house on the balcony or even in the cabin in the garden if we’re not too many.

Rain date: If the weather is dangerous rain and wind we can reschedule to May 11.
