A Saturday walk with Democrats Abroad through the beautiful vineyards and wine villages of the Lavaux region, from Lutry to Vevey. Justly designated a UNESCO world heritage site, the Lavaux is all steep south-facing vineyard-covered hillsides rising from Lac Leman, offering gorgeous views of the undulating countryside, the lake and facing Alps. We'll pass through centuries-old wine villages with their cafe terraces. This will be a 3.5-hour walk, approx 13km, plus an hour's picnic lunch pause. Those who want a shorter walk can stop at one of the eight train stations along the route. Wear layers and good walking shoes; we will not leave the paved roads. Rain date: Saturday March 11.

Public transport: Train RE, S1, S2, S3 or S4 to Lutry, or bus 9 to Lutry-Rive.  Car: Paid parking at Lutry.

RSVP, or contact Christine (email below or call ) to join the WhatsApp group for the Walk, for late details.
