FATCA/Tax Discussion & Steering Committee meeting
NOTE CHANGED LOCATION! (also our Annual General Meeting has been postponed)
DA-Sweden's former chair DeeDee Gierow will update us on her work with DA's global Taxation Task Force about FATCA and FBAR filings as well as U.S. income-tax filing more generally and, in particular, DA's effort to ameliorate or eliminate these burdens on American citizens abroad, either through the same-country/safe-harbor exemption (whereby bank accounts in one's country of residence would not be subject to reporting by either individuals or banks) or through moving from citizenship-based taxation to residence-based taxation.
Then we'll have a Steering Committee meeting to plan outreach and get-out-the-vote efforts between now and the elections in November. Your thoughts about how to win those elections are welcome.
As with our monthly Last-Tuesday Afterworks, we'll meet in the Conference Room of John Scott's on Linnégatan. Enter near the corner and order at the bar if you wish, then join us upstairs in back.
