Introduction to our guest speaker - Nate Snyder
Nate is a national security professional with extensive government experience in both the Obama and Biden administrations, primarily at the Department of Homeland Security. His work focused on counterterrorism, cybersecurity, election security, and community partnerships.
Nate is a national security professional with extensive government experience in both the Obama and Biden administrations, primarily at the Department of Homeland Security. His work focused on counterterrorism, cybersecurity, election security, and community partnerships.
Nate has worked on Democratic campaigns at every level and held senior roles during the 07-08 Obama campaign. He has also worked in the Labor movement at Local and National capacities with SEIU. In 2025 he ran for DNC Chair where he successfully raised issues of national security and combating disinformation."
Among his notable achievements was his leadership role in Operation Allies Welcome, evacuating ~100,000 Afghan allies to the US, for which he received the Secretary's Meritorious Silver Medal. Outside government, he's worked in national security consulting, taught at the University of Chicago, and is a frequent media commentator. Nate holds degrees from Syracuse University and the U.S. Naval War College.
Nate is a recent Tokyo resident and looking forward to talking about how we can impact the 2026 elections!
