What is the GPP? 

The Global Presidential Primary (GPP) is our party-run primary that allows DA members living outside the United States to participate in the process of nominating the Democratic Presidential candidate.

Why vote in the GPP?

This is your chance to vote in person, to drop a ballot in a box! Democrats Abroad will send delegates to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in August 2024 who reflect the results of our primary. These delegates will be elected at our regional and global conventions this year based on the results of the GPP.

Who can vote in the GPP in Rome?

To vote in the GPP at the Rome Voting Center: 

• you must be a U.S. citizen who resides in Italy;
• you must be a member of Democrats Abroad;
• you must be 18 years old as of November 5, 2024;
• you must not have voted in -- or plan to vote in -- any other 2024 state presidential primary.
• (primaries for Senators, Reps, Dog Catchers are ok).

Where to vote in Rome:

• Come to the Voting Center and cast your ballot!

Email, fax or postal mail voting options:

Request your ballot: You may request your Democrats Abroad primary ballot on Votefromabroad.org or via a google form.

Return your ballot: You may return your voted ballot by email, fax, or postal mail.

• Postal mail return details: to return your ballot by postal mail in Italy, please email [email protected] for the postal address.

Postal mailed voted ballots must be postmarked by March 12th and received no later than March 17th. 

**Ballots downloaded and printed at home CANNOT be returned at the Rome voting center.

• Democrats Abroad allows same day registration for voters participating in the Global Presidential Primary. Voters can register in-person or by signing up at https://www.democratsabroad.org/join
