2024 Ballot Assistance Events Around EMEA
From March 5 (Super Tuesday) to March 12, Americans all over the world will vote in the Global Presidential Primary run by Democrats Abroad. With more than 100 locations worldwide, they will cast ballots in person, at polling places where they live. In many, many more places, they will cast ballots remotely by sending their vote via email or post.
You can easily help people in your neighborhood or city cast their ballots and learn about Democrats Abroad by hosting a Ballot Assistance Event (BAE). A BAE is a publicized event held at your convenience between March 5 and March 12, where you provide instructions to Americans on how to make sure their vote counts––both this March and in November. There's very little to prepare, and it is a great chance to build on the excitement around the primaries. Send a message to [email protected] to get in touch with the EMEA Regional Team and learn more.Posted by Jen Rakow-Stepper

United to Boost Voter Turnout Amongst Americans Abroad in Turkiye

Meet Kyle Inan and democratic strategist Keith Brannum who got together last week in Izmir, Turkiye to "rally Democrats living across Turkiye and amplify their impact through active participation in the U.S. electoral process."
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Inan emphasized, "Our goal is to bridge the geographical divide and empower Democrats in Turkey to be active participants in shaping the future of our home country. The power of our collective voice and votes can extend beyond borders and reverberate back to the United States."
Mr. Brannum echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of a unified expat community, stating, "We have an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of our democracy, regardless of where we reside. By banding together, we can drive change and influence outcomes, ensuring that our voices are heard."

Meet Becca Young – EMEA Non-CC DPCA Voting Representative

Congratulations to Becca Young, the newly elected Non-CC DPCA Voting Representative for the EMEA Region!
Becca Young lives in Morocco and votes in Virginia. She has been an active member of DA since 2008, including two years as chair of DA-Indonesia, and has participated in several DA committees at the regional and global level, first with DA-Asia Pacific and now DA-EMEA since her move to Morocco in 2015. She currently serves as co-vice chair of DA Africa Committee.
“It’s an honor to be elected to this role as DA-EMEA Non-CC Representative. I highly value the significance of DA efforts for GOTV as well as advocacy and activism throughout the political cycle, working to keep politicians back home accountable and responsive to their constituents overseas. My goal is to help DA members in non-CC countries have their voices heard and their participation enhanced.”
As Non-CC DPCA Voting Representative, Becca and her three Non-CC colleagues from AP and Americas will join the 265 other voting representatives who over the next months will vote on amendments to the DA Charter, proposed DA resolutions, the 2024 Delegate Selection Plan, and, finally, to elect the DA International Executive Committee. Thank you for your service Becca!
