DA France February Newsletter
We hope you're okay ❤️
January felt like an entire year... February's already dragging. But we're pushing back on the despair and panic the Republicans want us to feel. They want us to give up, to think it's all a fait accompli. Far from it:- Trump's withdrawals from the Paris Climate Accord, UN Human Rights Council, UNESCO, and the World Health Organization have received loud pushback.
- High schoolers are staging large walk-outs in support of immigrants.
- The State of New York is refusing to extradite doctors being prosecuted for providing abortion services or medication.
- Trump has already had to sharply reduce proposed tariffs on Canada and Mexico (which experts predict will raise US gas prices at least 15 cents).
- Judges are ruling against Trump's illegal executive orders, including banning birthright citizenship.
- Thousands protested outside the US Treasury Tuesday, calling for Elon Musk's arrest.
With new DNC leadership elected last weekend, and leaders like Rep. Jamie Raskin thinking out of the box by having Judiciary Dems sit with social psychologists to get a new perspective, things are now in high gear. We have the momentum: No one likes that an unelected billionaire is running the country and stealing our personal data, and many of us are furious Trump "hired" this guy.
However you feel, make sure all your leaders know what you want from them. They work for us, and together, we all work for a better world.

The Stakes: Flipping The House, Retaining The Senate, and Electing Harris-Walz
A federal Democratic trifecta, with a Sineanchin-less Senate majority, will be prepared to end the Jim Crow filibuster and pass the structural change needed to end our political crisis, and expand the safety net that Frances Perkins (witness of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire and eventual US Secretary of Labor) started. We have under 70 days to find every vote we can to enact our agenda:
- Checking the corruption of the Supreme Court, addressing their lawless decisions in recent decisions like Dobbs, Shelby County, Rucho, Loper Bright Enterprises, and Trump v. United States.
- Climate action
- Federal protections for reproductive rights and the Equality Act
- A global deal to tax billionaires
- Gun control
- DC statehood
- Federal voting rights, clean-elections laws, an end to partisan gerrymandering
- The Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, which restores the right of workers to form a union and bargain together for workplace changes
- Family policy that will cut child poverty with a refundable expanded child tax credit of up to $3,600 (with $6,000 for newborns), paid leave
- Millions of new units of affordable housing, including $40 billion to jumpstart community land trusts and revolving loan programs for social housing
- Attacks on corporate price-gouging

DA France August Newsletter
Your #1 Job Right This Moment
It's vital that you confirm your voter registration immediately.
We have seen unprecedented voter suppression already in this election cycle. Every day, a voter relays a new and terrible story. Between 2020 and 2022, over 19 million voters were purged from the voter rolls. No notification—you're just gone.
