CAST YOUR BALLOT IN PERSON on INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY! Come share the excitement of going to the polls on voting day at the KAISERSLAUTERN VOTING CENTER!
Join us for coffee and cake after you vote! Bring your American friends!
I can’t attend the event but want to vote. What can I do?
If you can’t join us in person, as long as you’re a member of Democrats Abroad, you can also vote remotely. Look for your primary ballot in your inbox on February 18, 2020.
I vote in California. Can I vote in the Global Presidential Primary and the California primary?
You can only vote in the presidential primary once. That means that if you vote in the Global Primary but also want to vote in California for the down-ballot primary races (such as for your congressperson), you can! Just skip the presidential question on your California ballot.
I have already received my overseas absentee ballots for this year from California. Why should I participate in the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary instead of voting in the California presidential primary?
While thousands and thousands of people will participate in the Global Presidential Primary this year, millions will vote in your home state. That means that, as an individual, your primary vote with Democrats Abroad is more powerful than if you were to vote in California -- in fact, four times more powerful!
Who will win the Global Presidential Primary?
That’s up to you to decide! We’ll be announcing the results of our primary on March 23, 2020, so stay tuned!
I have questions about the Global Primary in Kaiserslautern/Landstuhl. Please email [email protected], and we’ll get back to you soon.
I'm a journalist and would like to interview someone or cover the Primary. Please email [email protected] with your question or request, and we'll be in touch right away.
Democrats Abroad will send delegates to the Democratic National Convention this July who reflect the results of the primary.
REQUEST YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT TODAY!
It is 2020 so you must sign up to vote from abroad. Have you requested your ballot? Please let me know when you register! Hoping we can have 100% registration in our chapter! If you have never voted from abroad before, or know someone who hasn’t voted, please share this information with them. With so many local elections being decided with very small margins (like the Louisiana and Kentucky governorships), overseas Americans' votes do count!
Make sure you're all set to vote by requesting your ballot today. Don’t postpone this!
Do not rely on your state sending you your absentee ballot without requesting it.
Go to votefromabroad.orgto get started. (As Americans abroad we must request our ballots every calendar year if we want to exercise our right to vote in U.S. elections.)
As a Democrats Abroad member, you're already all set to vote in our Kaiserslautern Global Presidential Primary on March 8th in Landstuhl to support your Democratic presidential candidate.
Remember - you can vote in ONE Presidential Primary, either the Global Presidential Primary (GPP) or your state’s presidential primary. In the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary, you will be able to vote for President. You can still vote in your state’s primary for all the other candidates running for various offices but not for President since you would have already done this in the GPP. Turn your state BLUE! (Just leave the President selection box blank but fill in the rest!)
NOTE: This is a primary for president only. To vote in local primary races, you can request a ballot from your state. If you do, leave the choice of presidential nominee blank. Don’t vote twice!
