Week of Action

Over the weekend of January 20 - 21, 2017, Democrats Abroad members will be joining numerous groups in marches, vigils, and rallies in solidarity with the Women's March on Washington and events to Thank President Obama for his time in office.

Wherever you are, we would like to encourage your participation. Locally hosted events from Democrats Abroad chapters can be found here: http://www.democratsabroad.org/da_global_marches_and_vigils

If you do not see a local Democrats Abroad event, please contact your local leaders for information regarding member participation in marches, rallies, and vigils hosted by other groups.

Many Democrats Abroad members and alumni will be joining the Women's March on Washington this weekend, if you are joining the march, or will be in Washington D.C., please consider joining the group for dinner. You can find information about the dinner by clicking here: Democrats Abroad Women's March on Washington Dinner.

The Women’s March on Washington also has a section where you can locate a “Sister March” in over 60 countries: http://www.womensmarch.com/sisters.

These events are intended to be peaceful, positive, and inclusive. Many country committee and chapter leaders have reached out to the Women's March groups in their countries/cities and have planned for members to join a local event not hosted by Democrats Abroad.

In some cases, the march organizers have asked that participants avoid political messaging (this could include political signs, clothing, or party affiliation). Please consult your local leaders to find out if there are any guidelines for your participation.

The hashtags for DC are #whyIMarch #WomensMarch, DA's hashtag is #DAmarcheswithDC.
