U.S. voters living abroad requested their absentee ballots on the eve of National Day

DA-Luxembourg’s Voter Pavilion on the Grand Rue on June 22, the eve of Luxembourg’s National Day, is a biennial tradition. All day, our volunteers helped American citizens request their absentee ballots using www.VoteFromAbroad.org and answered questions of all kinds about the American political process.
Although the election is still more than 5 months away, there was no doubting the early interest in Luxembourg! Several of the Americans who requested ballots on Tuesday had not voted since 2008 or even earlier. The results in November will depend on turnout, so this is a good, early sign that Americans living abroad are enthusiastic and ready to vote.
We had great participation from our volunteers, keeping our pavilion a lively and attractive spot. DA-Luxembourg will host many voter-registration events in 2016 and it’s easy to get started. Contact our chair, Will Bakker, if you’d like to lend a hand. You don’t need to be an expert on voting to get started — you are welcome just hang around for a short while and get a feel for what we do.
If you’re too busy to request your ballot in person at one of these events, don’t worry. American citizens can request their ballots from home, any time, using the online tool at www.VoteFromAbroad.org — and if you have questions you can ask our global experts at  [email protected] or our local assistants at [email protected]
