The Senate is trying to push through its own bill to "repeal and replace" Obamacare. Grab your phone today and let your senators know you support Obamacare and are disgusted by any proposal that puts cost savings above human lives!

Below we present two health care calling scripts. Whenever possible, add your own anecdotes in order to tell the most compelling story possible. Here's a list of senators' addressess and numbers for easy look up.

(If speaking to a Democratic U.S. Senate office)

Hello, my name is [NAME] and I'm the senator’s constituent from [U.S. voting state]. I currently live in [City, Country].

I'm calling to strongly urge [NAME OF SENATOR] to vote NO on any proposal to repeal and replace the current “Obamacare” law (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act). As you know, the House recently passed its pitiful version of “Trumpcare,” which would:

  • result in 23 million Americans losing their health insurance coverage,

  • raise out-of-pocket health care costs for millions of American families,

  • impose a crushing age tax on those ages 50-64,

  • shorten the life of the Medicare Trust Fund,

  • slash the protections for people with pre-existing conditions, and

  • defund Planned Parenthood for a year.

In short, this is a disastrous bill and the Senate should not act on the House-passed bill or any other bill similar to it which would do further damage to both Americans’ health and the outstanding reputation of the United States in helping people, not hurting them.

Again, as a U.S. citizen living abroad I’m calling to urge [NAME OF SENATOR] to OPPOSE any proposal to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Thank you.

(If speaking to a Republican U.S. Senate office)

Hello, my name is [NAME] and I'm the senator’s constituent from [U.S. voting state]. I currently live in [City, Country].

I'm calling to strongly urge [NAME OF SENATOR] to vote NO on any proposal to repeal and replace the current health care law. As I’m sure you know, the House recently passed H.R. 1628, the American Health Care Act, which would:

  • kick 23 million Americans out of having health coverage as confirmed by the Congressional Budget Office,

  • slash the protections for people with pre-existing conditions,

  • raise out-of-pocket health care costs for millions of American families,

  • impose a crushing age tax on those ages 50-64, and

  • block as many as 7 million veterans from getting tax credits to go toward private health insurance.

[A personal story would go well here. i.e. “I’m really worried about a family member who’s gravely ill. If she lost her current coverage due to Congress passing this embarrassment of a bill…”]

I believe that every American should have access to quality, affordable health care. Obamacare isn’t perfect, but repealing it would absolutely guarantee that the senator would lose my vote.

Again, as a U.S. citizen living abroad I’m calling to urge [NAME OF SENATOR] to OPPOSE H.R. 1628 and any other bill similar to it.

Thank you.
