About Steven Fenberg

Steven Fenberg is the Emmy Award-winning executive producer and co-writer of Brother, Can You Spare a Billion? The Story of Jesse H. Jones, the PBS documentary narrated by Walter Cronkite about the man who throughout the Great Depression and World War II was the most powerful person in the nation next to President Franklin Roosevelt. Fenberg also wrote Unprecedented Power: Jesse Jones, Capitalism and the Common Good, the award-winning biography about Jones and his leadership of the federal government’s Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RFC).

How do we address the challenges of rebuilding antiquated infrastructure and the impact of climate change? President Biden’s infrastructure law authorized $550 billion in new spending. A great start, but not enough. Author Steven Fenberg wrote the book on the Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RFC), a
national infrastructure bank that stabilized and expanded the economy in the Great Depression and transformed industry to win World War II. With Democratic legislation to create a new infrastructure bank rapidly gaining support, join us to explore the transformative power of good government and how the RFC’s successful strategies can be adapted to address today’s daunting challenges.
